Operation
Round Up

Giving back to the community we serve is a core cooperative principle. The Operation Round Up program from Arrowhead Cooperative is a great way for the co-op and its members to give back.

Operation Round Up is a voluntary, member-driven fundraising program for local community projects. Each month, the Cooperative “rounds up” the electric and broadband bills of participating members to the next highest dollar. For example, if you are an Operation Round Up participant and your bill is $74.63, we can round it up to $75. The additional 37¢ is placed in the Operation Round-Up Trust and distributed to local charitable, community-based programs. The average annual contribution is about $6 and the most a member could contribute in a year is just $11.88.

Since the program’s inception in 2003, Arrowhead Electric members and Arrowhead Broadband subscribers have raised and donated more than nearly $400 thousand to over 100 local community service projects!

Apply for Funding

Community groups and non-profit organizations that serve Cook County are encouraged to apply for an Operation Round Up grant by completing an Operation Round Up application. The Board of Directors evaluates funding requests in accordance with the Operation Round Up Trust bylaws, policies, and grant guideline once a year. Grants up to $5,000 are awarded annually at the Cooperative’s Annual Meeting.

The application deadline for 2024 funding is April 5. Please download the Grant Guidelines and Grant Application below for more details.

How to Donate

Arrowhead Cooperative’s Operation Round Up Program is an “opt-out” program. As an Arrowhead Electric member or Arrowhead Broadband subscriber, no action is required on your part to donate. Members and subscribers are automatically enrolled in the Operation Round Up
